GET TO KNOW LINDA
I first came to Chapel Hill in 1970 as an undergraduate. After receiving a B.A. degree in English, I went on to earn certification teaching English/Language Arts in grades K-12. I remained in Chapel Hill to teach Remedial Reading in the Orange County School System until 1978 when I relocated to Washington, DC. After a successful career as a broker with RE/MAX Allegiance in Northern Virginia, I returned to Chapel Hill and affiliated with RE/MAX Winning Edge.
In Washington I established the Jenkins Hill Child Development Center on Capitol Hill behind the Library of Congress. The school still provides superior pre-school education as a parents cooperative which I helped form when I left. While there I also published Potomac Children, the first parenting newspaper in Washington, which later merged into Washington Parent.
A life-long writer and foodie I created Metropolitan Menus, a collection of restaurant menus and local food articles with recipes from top chefs, along with other local Washington, DC, publications.
With the birth of my son I retired from work outside the home but remained active in community and school activities. During this period I helped develop the neighborhood schools biggest participant fundraiser, Get Fit, which also continues to this day.
A Realtor since 2001 I continue to use the professional, proactive and personal skills I have developed over my lifetime. When you work with me I promise to handle your transaction personally in every aspect. There when you need me, I will respect your home buying or selling process as a unique experience.
I am a Realtor, GREEN, a Certified Residential Specialist, a long-time member of REBAC, the organization for Accredited Buyers Representatives. I am also a Certified New Homes Specialist, as well as Residential Construction Certified. In Northern Virginia I was a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club.
I live by a pond in Carrboro with my son Christopher and our pesky English Springer Spaniel, inappropriately named Lady. I enjoy reading, writing, gardening, and fishing.
